Life In Northern Uganda After the IDP Camps

Michael Otim, Head of the Uganda Office of the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), describes how life used to be in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps of northern Uganda, and now that they have been largely dismantled, the challenges faced in the return to normal life.  He also weighs in on the Anti-LRA bill passed by the U.S. Congress requiring President Barack Obama to devise a strategy over the next six months to help capture the leadership of the Lord’s Revolutionary Army (LRA).

John Washburn, Convener of the American Non-Governmental Organizations Coalition for the ICC (AMICC), explains AMICC’s mission to help make the International Criminal Court a stronger institution and one that is attractive to U.S. citizens and policymakers. Ambassador Rapp Articulates the U.S. Position on the ICC

Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues Stephen Rapp is heading the U.S. delegation to the International Criminal Court Review Conference (RC) taking place in Kampala.  The U.S. is very concerned about the outcome of the negotiations to define the Crime of Aggression.  Even though the U.S. is not a member state of the ICC, it feels that it could be affected by the outcome of the RC.  Ambassador Rapp summarizes the U.S. position in this clip.
